Nightmare OP/ED Theme songs for Death Note Anime
This news is a bit late but I have something to contribute other than what Killerfly has posted over at DG.org,
First off, what is this about? If you just read the title, let me tell you your eyes are not deceiving you the Death Note anime OPED will be done by JRock band Nightmare, and the releases (both anime and Nightmare's new single) are coming out in a matter of weeks!!!
The news was from Nightmare's Official Website (in Japanese).
What's new with this post, are these direct links to pre-order your Nightmare CD which is scheduled to be released on Oct. 17 2006 Please note: there are three versions of the CD, each with a different Death Note-related item inside
The World / Alumina (SINGLE+DVD / Version A) The World / Alumina (SINGLE+DVD / Version B) The World / Alumina (Death Note Artwork Editon)
So what **exactly** are their differences? Version A has PV (promotional video) DVD for "the WORLD" (Opening theme) Version B has PV DVD for "Alumina" (Ending theme) Death Note Artwork edition is encased in DN artwork that has never been released

Back. from unannounced gone-ness.
Yo. I haven't been updated for a while 'cause I LOST MY INTERNET CONNECTION because of some.. faulty wiring Hah. Even more than I eventually discovered that our contract with the phone company turned out to be 2 YEARS instead of one, there's like, $100 (USD) fee to disconnect their service before we can get a new one. So I need to stay with the slow ADSL for that long
Anyways, there's been some activity over at DeathNotes Forum , of the site DeathNotes. It's growing quite slowly, but it looks like a promising Death Note Community
Over at TOWNL, there are new posts about the 2nd Movie, the 'MAKING OF: Death Note Movie 1 DVD' also has a torrent there, plus news on the ANIME, there's a cam pic of some character designs from a magazine, too. Here's a small version, click to enlarge. The original is 2048x1493pixels.

BTW, the anime is scheduled to be released on October 3. It's been said around that the VK band "Nightmare" is performing the Intro/Outro. Other news, I was looking for a new wallpaper a while ago and found this awesome site. *not for the faint-hearted**kuku*
Morbid Obsession The wall I chose is the one named 'Woman in Box'. I don't even play Silent Hill yet it's so enticing, so go visit if you're a fan of general morbid stuff.

July 20 2006
Our current DSL sucks. It really does. I was uploading some 50MB file parts to rapidshare just a while ago and that's when I found out just how much it really sucks X_X. Anyways, there've been new mainstream advertisements for a new DSL service that's just about the same price as the one we currently have but is like, 4x faster O_O. So just how much does our current one suck? Well, we signed up for ADSL of 128DL/64UL plan but I get like 40KB/s download and UL speed of 12-15KB/s O_O. So we're gonna apply for the new service and *hope* they do fulfill their advertised 512DL/128UL KB/s speeds ^_^.
Haha, onto other things, there's this new site that a TOWNL member's posted about, Death Notes. Yup, it's hosted on ocean's kefi.org and it already has some content on it so go check it out. The content, btw, are Death Note essays and mostly creative analysis (note: not fanfiction XDD). I've read some of the content and it's pretty nice, I was thinking of contributing some myself (I have like, a Death Note writing list even before this site was created XDDD) but I haven't sent anything yet for two reasons: 1)Lazy. 2)Those that I've already written are reeeeeally personal to me. It's not the kind other people can appreciate 'cause I surmise they won't understand anyway. Anyways, the owner (minakochan on the TOWNL boards) also put up a forum recently (I've already registered, haha) which I *hope* will ge more users soon ^_^.
woo.. speaking about TOWNL, did you notice their downtime? lol. everyone thought it was dead already, it was gone for about, 2 weeks. so it's up again but ALL DATA AFTER MAY 13, 2006 WAS DELETED. Not even Chris knows if it's recoverable since it seems their previous host wouldn't answer emails >_<. So with that, KIRA Follower Fanclub lost members, and so did my Mikami Teru and MISA Must Die!! Fanclubs *tear* T_T.

Death Note How to Read 13
After a few months into the end of Death Note with Volume 12, Shueisha released yet again another addition to the Death Note Empire, the Death Note How to Read Volume 13. This item is not a comic (like the other Volumes, or 'Tankobans') but is a collection of special items to help readers understand and analyze the story of Death Note.
There are 2 releases: First Limited Edition, and Normal Edition. Both contain these items:
- L's true name card!
- Death Note Pilot.
This was the first release of Death Note into Jump Comics before it was serialized by Viz into the Death Note we know now. This pilot story is still available to download from Toriyama's World in English (scanlated by Toriyama's World).
- Death Note Reversible Cover.
Features Death Notebook cover and an original art from Obata Takeshi.
- Authors Interview. The authors talk about the Death Note and disclose some secrets from the Manga (O_O)
- Profiles & Explanations.
More insight on the characters and Story Timeline.
- List of L's Sweets!
Know all of L's sugar obsessions X_X While only the first limited edition contain:
- Near's 5 Kira Puppets
- Box for 12 Death Note Tankobans.
This box holds 12 Volumes of your Manga collection. I've already pre-ordered my First Limited Edition, and waiting for October for it to ship! They are released on October 13, 2006 Japan time so by October 17 or 18 I should have mine already
Here's a preview of it featured on Shueisha Official Website
Haha, it's a bit big. XD. To pre-order one for yourself (there are, I think, only 1,000 releases of the Limited Edition!), you can go to these stores:
I ordered mine from Amazon.co.jp because it's cheaper there when you're not availing of YesAsia's Free Shipping Worldwide
Some credits to ocean :)

Death Note Movie: Shortcomings?
I've seen the first 10 minutes of the film.
You can view it here too. I wasn't too happy about it. I felt like I was watching something which was a perverted attempt at recreation, a really bad rip of idea from my favorite manga. Sometime after it had started, I found myself all I could do for the moment was to think this was something made totally away from Death Note itself! I think to myself, this movie was done for profit and not for art nor enjoyment's sake anymore.
I'm not so anticipating of the movie anymore, and if to watch it was to watch the real Death Note, I would see it only for L's (Ken'ichi Matuyama's) performance.
I feel awful but I don't really regret watching this clip. Unlike the manga, they seem to like to dwell on what effect KIRA has on Tokyo, and Japan as a whole, rather than as a global phenomenon, or the beginning of a worldwide religious revolution. It was particularly super funny when "Light" took out the humongous "Death Note" from his bag and wrote a name in it while he was in public, watching a big building-size TV with the rest of Tokyo! And by the way, I never imagined Light would play basketball. It's a social sport, one that's right out on the streets instead of a private court, like in Tennis, an elegant sport of the kind that would exude the kind of elegance and particularity, his exactitude with little details of his life.
